January’s status for current inventory and incentives

images

Alfa Romeo – Slim pickings on the remaining 2020 models for Giulia & Stelvio but great incentives if you find one you like. Programs on the 2021 models are decent but not as good as the 2020 models. Sunroof, navigation & safety features are now standard on all 2021 Giulia & Stelvio TI trim levels.

Acura – Lots of inventory on the remaining 2020 MDX and 2021 TLX models but the incentives are nothing special. I would have expected more on the MDX’s to get rid of the remaining inventory as the redesigned 2022 MDX is due out next month. Look for Acura to possibly come out with a mid-month enhancement on some of the models.

Audi – They have a tiered stair-step bonus in place for the 1st quarter of this year which will make many dealers aggressively discount cars to hit their top bonus. A4, A6, Q3, Q5, SQ5, Q7, Q8 all have good inventory. A3, Allroad, A7, A5 Coupe & Convertible, A8, SQ8, RSQ8 & RS6 Avant are low in inventory. There are deals to be made on Audi’s!

BMW – Very similar offerings as last month carry over to January. Inventory is tight on some models. I always recommend factory ordering a new BMW if you’re looking to get one. This way you lock yourself into the best price when it’s ordered and when it comes in if the programs get better (And you’re aware of it) your entitled to the better offerings. The key is getting the best deal when ordering the car and then knowing if it gets better or not when it comes in. I handle this very, very well! Lead time for X3, X5 & X7’s are between 3 & 5 weeks since they are built in the US. All other models are closer to 8 weeks to be safe.

Chevy – Costco incentives are over but there is a good supply of inventory and good incentives on the Trailblazer, Blazer, Equinox & Traverse. Tahoe’s, Suburban’s and all Silverado’s are tough to get right now due to production and getting vehicles delivered from the port with transportation issues. Dealers are price gouging on these models as much as they can if you don’t know what you’re doing. If you’re part of the GM Supplier program it will get you a better incentive but still nothing that I would call a great deal. I highly recommend my DIY Dealer Report if you’re going to be leasing one of these models so you can see what the right number should be.

Cadillac – Seems like inventory is decent on all models except the new Escalade. There are issues with production, lack of parts, and trucking from the factory. If you’re looking for a new Escalade expect to pay MSRP and above if purchasing. If you’re leasing, dealers are price gauging. I highly recommend my DIY Dealer Report if you’re going to be leasing one of these models so you can see what the right number should be.

Chrysler – The new Pacifica has been getting excellent reviews but there has been a hold up with getting them to the dealerships with delivery issues. There is a massive amount of them that should hit dealers in the next 6 weeks. Incentives should be exceptionally good when it happens.

Dodge – 2021 Durango’s started trickling in mid-last month. Inventory is light on most trim levels but there is some supply on the SXT Plus and GT Plus models. Incentives are “so-so.” Hopefully, they come out with something extra. Chargers & Challengers are leasing out well.

Honda – Inventory & incentives are very good on Civic, Accord, Odyssey, and CRV’s. Pilots have decent inventory, Passports and Ridgelines are low in inventory but you can still get a good deal.

Infiniti – Inventory is getting low on the 2020 Q50’s & QX60’s. The QX50’s have a good inventory. Incentives are decent and get better if you’re coming out of an Infiniti lease.

Jeep – Good inventory & incentives on 2021 Compass, Cherokee & Grand Cherokee models. Even better incentives if you’re coming out of a Grand Cherokee lease and going into a new one. Wranglers are low in inventory but there are still deals to be found especially when you do a factory order on one.

Jaguar – All models are hurting with inventory and they’re not offering anything special. Will probably get worse with the UK shutting down. Maybe consider something else.

Lexus – The December to Remember event is over which means no more 1st-month payment waiver on many of their models but other than that most of the incentives carried over from December. Inventory has been getting better on most models and the discounts are getting back to what they were Pre-COVID. Good deals!

Land Rover/Range Rover – Between 0% & .9% financing available on almost all 2020 and 2021 models. Nothing to rave about as far as leases unless you’re looking for a 2020 Discovery Sport! Still a lot of price gouging going on. I highly recommend the DIY Dealer Report if you’re leasing a new Land Rover/Range Rover. It’s very easy for dealers to charge you thousands over MSRP with you knowing the right numbers. Inventory is fair to low on RR Velar’s, RR Sports, and full-size RR’s. Inventory is expected to get worse with the UK shutting down due to Coronavirus.

Lincoln – There are very few 2020 Aviators and Navigators still available. Inventory is good on the 2021 Aviator and slowly coming in on the 2021 Navigators. Incentives vary per vehicle. Still lots of inventory and incentives on the Corsair!

Mazda –  Good inventory and incentives on all 2021 models. Extra incentives if you have a 2015 or new Toyota Rav4 or Highlander in your household and you’re looking to get a new CX-5 or CX-9.

Mercedes – Inventory is getting better on the A, C & E class sedans as well as the GLE. Plenty of GLA’s, GLB’s, and GLC’s. Still low inventory on the GLS, All Coupes, and Convertibles. There really are no crazy incentives and haven’t been for a long time now. I think Mercedes is trying to go back to what it used to be 20+ years ago when it stood out as the most prestigious and expensive luxury car. Even without all the incentives, there is always a “better deal” to be found and I will find it!

Nissan – Still low inventory on most models except the Sentra and Rogue. The deals still aren’t as good as they were pre-Covid but are starting to get better.

Porsche – Inventory and pricing is good on the Macan & Cayenne. Everything else is slim pickings.

Ram – Inventory is still low with many trim levels and incentives are nothing to rave about.

Subaru – Inventory is good across the whole line up with the exception of the Ascent. Subaru always offers good leasing and finance rates. The key to getting the best deal on their models is knowing what the deepest discount should be, finding your private offer for current and previous customers in addition to their loyalty incentive. Subaru rarely offers any rebates.

Toyota – Inventory is still hurting. Dealers are still running on half the amount of inventory or less compared to what they had pre-COVID. This has helped dealers hold gross, offer minimum discounts, and have you paying more. The only model I can recommend as getting a decent deal would be the Highlander. The worst deals seem to be Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, and all Hybrid models.

Volvo – The Costco rebate has come to an end but the deals are still aggressive. Inventory is good on all models, very plentiful on the XC40 and overflowing on the XC60. I’m still not sure if the XC40 is worth the money but the leases seem to be the cheapest they have been within the last year. I think the S60 sedan is a lot of value for everything you get compared to its competitors. Not sure why I don’t see more of them on the road. Definitely something to check out if you want a cheap lease on a luxury mid-size AWD sedan.

VW – Inventory is good on most models. The deals are aggressive on the Jetta, Tiguan & Atlas. If you’re considering a Honda Accord, Nissan Maxima, Toyota Camry, or Acura TLX you should also look at the VW Passat. The deals are very aggressive on the remaining 2020 Passat’s.
